Cento for December 1, 2013

During every First Tuesdays open mic, we communally compose a cento using language taken from each open-mic reader’s offering. The cento from December 2013 is made up of lines from poems read by Catherine Fletcher, Jack Feldstein, Peter Marra, Nancy Agabian, Scott Bankert, Norman Stock, Herb Rubenstein, Allison, Naomi, Hank, and Norka Del Rios.

Cento

Each creeping moment escapes my surrender
and then I begin to think about my spleen.
Up on the roof, under the boardwalk, where all organs gather,
hold in readiness a pair of tongs.
This time is disturbing and different.
The car is still down there.
What I want is to fuck her a lot.
With macular persistence.

I give my all which is ever so small,
slowly at first,
giving thanks.
